Tile & Flooring Prices in Victoria, BC
Pricing depends on the material format, the complexity of the layout and the condition of the subfloor. Looking for laminate or vinyl plank flooring instead? Those have their own rates. Below are the ranges whole jobs usually land in, and under them our current labour rates per square foot for every type of work in Greater Victoria.
What a whole job usually costs
Rates per square foot are useful once you know the scope, but most people want the number for the room. Bathrooms are shown all-in — plumbing, waterproofing, tile, fixtures and finishing — and the backsplash is our labour with tile quoted separately. All before GST. Build your own range below.
Kitchen backsplash
Around 25–40 sq ft of wall, cut around outlets, window returns and the range hood. Usually one to two days on site.

Bathroom with tub surround
All-in. Our tile work within that: $2,100–$4,900
Floor plus tiled walls around the tub, waterproofed properly, old tile taken out and disposed of. Typically 4–7 working days.

Bathroom with walk-in shower

Labour only, in Canadian dollars, before GST. Tile, adhesive, grout and trim are quoted separately — supply your own or we source them for you. These are the ranges most jobs land in, not a quote: the firm written price comes after we have measured the room and looked at the subfloor. A minimum project charge of $500 applies.

What these rates cover. The figures above are labour only, in Canadian dollars, for work in Greater Victoria. Tile, adhesive, grout and trim are quoted separately — you can supply your own materials or we can source them for you. GST applies. A minimum project charge of $500 applies to small jobs.
The all-in number. For a full bathroom, our tile work is one part of the total. The bathroom figures above already include plumbing, electrical, materials, fixtures and finishing — see the line-by-line breakdown.
What moves the price. Layout complexity is the biggest factor: herringbone, chevron and mitred edges take substantially longer than a straight lay. After that comes the state of the subfloor — an old mortar bed or a floor that is out of level needs proper prep before anything goes down. Rooms with lots of cuts, niches, curbs and benches also take longer than open floor area.
Older homes. Resilient flooring installed before 1990 may contain asbestos. If your home is from that era, testing is required before any tear-out, and certified abatement is quoted separately. We will tell you plainly if we think your floor needs to be tested.
