How we install a backsplash

Counters and cabinets covered, outlets made safe, and the layout set from the most visible sightline so cuts fall where nobody looks.
Set level courses
Levelling spacers keep every course flat and straight, even where the countertop is not.
Grout, trim & clean
Grout matched to the tile, profile trim on open edges, silicone at the counter and a clean kitchen at the end of the day.

Backsplash FAQ — Victoria, BC
How much does a kitchen backsplash cost in Victoria?
Our labour for a typical kitchen backsplash — around 25 to 40 square feet of wall, cut around outlets, window returns and the range hood — starts from $500, with outlet and edge trim included. Mosaic and herringbone sit at the top of that range. Tile and setting materials are separate: supply your own or we source them for you.
How long does a backsplash take?
Usually one to two days on site: setting on the first day, grout and trim on the second. Your kitchen stays usable in the evenings.
Can you tile around my existing countertop and cabinets?
Yes — that is the normal case. We protect the counters and cabinets, scribe the tile to the countertop and finish the open edges with a profile trim so there is no raw tile edge on show.
Do I need to remove my old backsplash first?
If there is old tile, it usually comes off and the drywall is repaired so the new tile sits flat. We quote removal and wall repair separately once we have seen what is there.
Do you install slab-look or large-format backsplashes?
Yes. Book-matched porcelain behind a cooktop or running the full wall reads like stone with far fewer joints. It needs more planning and careful handling, which we price per project.
