What we build in

Curbless or low-entry shower

No step to trip on. A linear drain lets the floor run as one plane.

Built-in bench

Floating or built-in, waterproofed as part of the shower system.

Hand shower on a slide bar

Usable sitting or standing, with the valve placed where it can be reached from the bench.

Grab-bar blocking

Solid backing in the walls so bars can be fixed securely wherever they are needed — now or later.

Slip-resistant floor

Textured or smaller-format tile with more grout lines for grip in the wet area.

Light and space

Good lighting at the vanity and shower, and a wider doorway where the framing allows.

Planned in 3D first

Heights, clearances and turning space are easier to judge on screen than on a drawing. We model the room to your measurements — and to your occupational therapist’s recommendations if you have them — before anything is ordered. How Novo Preview works.

Questions

Accessible bathroom FAQ — Victoria, BC

What makes a bathroom accessible?

Usually a curbless or very low-entry shower, a bench, a hand shower on a slide bar, slip-resistant floor tile, blocking in the walls for grab bars, good lighting and, where possible, a wider doorway.

Can my existing tub become a curbless shower?

Often, yes. A curbless entry means recessing the shower floor or building up the rest of the room so water still runs to the drain; we check the floor structure at the estimate and tell you what is possible.

Do you work with occupational therapists?

We are happy to build to your occupational therapist’s recommendations — heights, clearances and grab-bar positions — and to model them in 3D first so everyone can check them.

Can I plan for later without it looking clinical?

Yes. Blocking for grab bars costs very little during the build and nothing shows until you need it. A bench and a linear drain look like design choices, not equipment.
